Project Summary:

The Yolo County Health Building was a publicly bid project. TurtleEnergy provided a system design and product selection such that 1 Star Energy won the bid.

The building was under construction at the time of installation. When TurtleEnergy's Electrical Engineer visited the site prior to installation to train and educate the installer about the Uni-Solar installation process, he discovered that the roof structure and form were different than what had been planned, due to a necessary construction revision. Our Electrical Engineer had to completely redesign the PV system to the new roof layout, and quickly. TE rallied to adjust and the system was installed and was completed on time in August 2006.

TurtleEnergy excels at designing photovoltaic (PV) arrays so that efficiency is optimized for both the dimensions and orientation of the given area to keep costs to a minimum.

TurtleEnergy ensures that each system is performing to the maximum potential at the end of each installation. Ongoing measurement of the energy production is a key hallmark of TurtleEnergy and differentiates it as a full service renewable energy company.

From the start of the Yolo County Health Building project, TurtleEnergy's designers determined optimal opportunities to generate electricity at the point of use, transforming a relatively unused space into a useful source of revenue.

TurtleEnergy undertook a detailed assessment of the site that included:

  • Preconstruction Shading Analysis of the proposed roofscape
  • Optimal System Design
  • Coordination of roofing with roof mounted PV module layout
  • Coordination of the proprietary mounting hardware for the solar panels with the Manufacturer
  • Multi-disciplinary coordination with Architects, Civil Engineers, Structural Engineers
  • Construction Financing
  • On site support
  • Post-construction follow-up
