When TurtleEnergy offers to supply an energy system to a power purchase customer, we are the owner of the system and the power it produces is sold to the end user at a discount below utility cost of electricity.
TurtleEnergy always engages with an installation partner once we have a design concept for the project. TE and its investors are always looking for a long, healthy life for the power purchase systems which we supply to our customers. Is installing, commissioning, maintaining and monitoring a portfolio of renewable energy projects rewarding? The reward is new business in the new energy economy. As green collar workers we know that performing as part of the solution is better than prolonging the problem. Call TurtleEnergy today and become a bidder for a better, greener future.
Q:
- Are TurtleEnergy power purchase projects an opportunity for "on the job training"?
- Does TurtleEnergy have a training program which my electrical contracting company can participate in?
- Once a contractor becomes familiar with the installation process on a smaller commercial project, does the economy of scale for a larger, utility scale project reduce the labor costs?
- How do I bid on a solar project when I have no experience or knowledge of the labor required to complete the project?
- Does TurtleEnergy take steps to insure our project goes in without a hitch?
A:
1. No. Only contractors with experience from the public bidding sector or privately owned commercial scale projects qualify to bid on TE power purchase projects. TE can get you started in PV and has done so with over fifty electricians, most of whom are union trained electricians.
2. TurtleEnergy holds training courses, providing on-site exposure to large scale PV installation right on the roof of our headquarters in Linden, New Jersey. Many firms have benefited from attending our courses. Some have since met with our manufacturing partners as well as some experienced contractors exclaiming: "I did my first MW with Turtle!"
3. One reason why this industry needs to increase its installation bandwidth is because the projects just keep getting larger and larger! A cost estimator can make assumptions which will make or break a project's economic formula. This is why it is important to start with a smaller project under 100kW prior to bidding on larger commercial and institutional projects. TurtleEnergy can point you in the right direction in the public bidding sector, provide you with a bill of materials, and TE will guide you down the installation manuals which provide great detail towards your manpower estimate on your first project.
4. Since TurtleEnergy is not your competitor, we can provide assistance with the construction processes and critical paths required to complete a solar project. Our goal is to expand your business horizons and create a sunny future relationship with TurtleEnergy.
5. Often, TurtleEnergy has a financial stake in the successful completion of your project. Our PV Engineers and systems architects are with you on site, inspecting your crew's progress and checking the system for consistent power production and code compliance.
